Most GCSE Physics support teaches more content. Physics Decoded Live teaches something different: the Five Performance Patterns that determine how marks are actually awarded.

Every session is built around AQA examiner evidence — the same reports that reveal, year after year, exactly why capable students lose marks. Not because they don't know the Physics. Because of how they answer questions.

The six sessions

Each session runs for 90 minutes via Zoom. Every session follows the same structure: teach the pattern, practise together, then Q&A on your specific questions.

Session 1
The Language Pattern
Performance Pattern 1

Why precise scientific vocabulary earns marks — and vague language loses them. AQA 2025: 79% of Higher tier students scored zero on a question specifically because of imprecise language.

Session 2
The Answer Structure Pattern
Performance Pattern 2

A repeatable framework for every extended response. Six-mark questions don't reward longer answers — they reward structured ones. Students who learn the PEEL framework stop losing marks on the highest-value question on the paper.

Session 3
The Calculation Pattern

How to earn marks even when the final answer is wrong. Approximately 30% of GCSE Physics marks involve mathematics — most lost marks come from missing working and incorrect units, not mathematical inability.

The Required Practical Pattern

Required Practical questions follow four recurring patterns every year. Students who recognise the question type before writing consistently outperform those who don't.

Not all topics appear equally in AQA papers. Using examiner data, students learn where their revision time delivers the greatest return. Parents are invited back to hear the summary and next steps — because they've invested too.

Frequently asked questions

What year group is this for?

Physics Decoded Live is designed for Year 10 and Year 11 students studying AQA GCSE Physics (separate science) or AQA Combined Science Trilogy. Year 11 students benefit from the immediate exam focus. Year 10 students gain an advantage by learning the performance system a full year before their exams.

Why only 12 students?

Because genuine learning in a live setting requires real interaction. At 12 students, every question gets answered, every student gets noticed, and the Q&A is genuinely useful. This isn't a webinar. It's a coaching programme.

What if my child misses a session?

Every session is recorded and shared with enrolled students within 24 hours. Missing one session won't derail the programme — the workbooks and homework keep students on track between sessions.

Is this suitable for Combined Science students?

Yes — and it's particularly valuable for Combined Science students. The Five Performance Patterns apply equally to Combined Science Physics, Many Combined Science students find Physics the most systematic part of their course — improving Physics performance can have an outsized impact on the overall Combined Science grade.

How is this different from a tutor?

A tutor typically helps with content understanding. Physics Decoded Live teaches exam performance — the specific skills that determine how marks are awarded. Many students benefit from both: a tutor for content, Physics Decoded for performance. They're complementary, not competing.

What if my child's grade doesn't improve?

Physics Decoded Live teaches a repeatable performance system, not a grade guarantee. Results depend on how consistently students apply what they learn. What we can promise is that students who complete the programme will understand exactly how GCSE Physics marks are awarded — and have a practical system for earning more of them.
